Khon and Lakorn Khol: A Shared Cultural Performing Art

Thailand’s Khon and Cambodia’s Lakhon Khol became an issue that causes arguments between Thai and Cambodian people upon submission by both countries their very similar masked dance performing arts to UNESCO for inclusion on its Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016 and 2017 accordingly. This raised the question among people of the two nations as to who owns this cultural heritage.
